Pacifica vs the purchasing module in your ERP
The ERP is the system of record. It is not the system of what's happening.
What the ERP knows
SAP MM, Oracle Procurement, NetSuite and Dynamics 365 hold the purchase order, the goods receipt, the invoice and the payment — the four accounting events of a purchase. They hold them accurately and they should keep holding them. Pacifica reads them and never writes back.
What the ERP doesn't know
Everything between those four events: that a sample was approved, that the supplier moved the ETD by a week, that the B/L is on a courier, that free time started on Tuesday, that the certificate of origin is missing, that the supplier's WhatsApp says the container was rolled. That is where the delays and the emails live, and an ERP has no field for it.

How they fit together
Connect the ERP read-only (SAP S/4HANA OData, Oracle Fusion REST, NetSuite SuiteTalk, Dynamics Dataverse). POs appear in Pacifica by themselves; goods receipts move the stage; invoice status arrives with the block reason in plain language. If the ERP can't be connected yet, Pacifica reads what the ERP already emails — PO confirmations, invoice receipts, remittance advice — and works from day one.
